"I still bother with runners I call hamburgers. They're never going to run any record times. But they can fulfill their own potential." - Bill Bowerman

My run was an epic fail this morning. That is not to day I didn't get the adrenaline going however. Got up and moving for an easy 7. Temps were great (about 50) and it was lightly raining. Unfortunately, I got about a 1/2 mile out and the sky started lighting up like the Fourth of July. Thunder boomed and it was scary how close it all seemed. Needless to say, I booked it back to the house and it took about 10 minutes before my heart stopped pounding out of my chest. Yikes. I love running in the rain, but that was downright scary. Guess I need to readjust and either run tonight after Girls on the Run or figure out a different way to shift my week around. [No, the treadmill was not an option in case you are wondering - I am done with that for the season. :)]

Pretty much the only thing that will panic me is the fear of getting electrocuted. Last year, it started storming so badly, out of nowhere, when I was a few miles from home. A police officer stopped me and asked if I was okay (I was soooo scared to run over the bridge that was coming up) and actually gave me a ride home. I finished up on the 'mill :). I know you hate it, but it is a good tool when you need it.
Don't mess with lightning!
