The Intervals Won

Today I was scheduled for 9 with 5 x 1000 meters at 5K pace with 2 minute recoveries. The run was OK, but my stomach was rocked and cut my last interval short. I think it is the darn mucinex I have been taking the last 2 days.

The good news was that I did not shy away from the wind or the hills. It was a good workout, even if the intervals look a bit slow.

.62: 4:25 / 178 (7:09 pace - almost entirely uphill and headwind)
.62: 4:13 / 184 (6:49 pace - headwind, but a good part was downhill)
.62: 4:17 / 184 (6:57 pace - headwind - mostly flat)
.62: 4:19 / 184 (6:59 pace - mostly uphill, but less wind)
.20: 1:24 / 185 (7:01 pace - had to stop and stroll on home).

Here's hoping my hard workout this weekend goes a wee bit better.

If it's not on a track I've learned (finally) not to worry about the pace. There are just too many variables. You got the HR up there, so you gave it the old college try.

Umm, those intervals don't look that slow to me! Way to get them done!
