I am posting my cut-back week details a bit late, but I don't want to forget to do it. So, even if untimely, here goes:
M: rest
T: 30 minutes - 3.5 miles (8:40 pace) / arms and abs
W: 20 min w/u (8:49); 4 x .75 mi @ 7:17 pace (7:14; 7:18; 7:15; 7:14) with .25 mi recoveries; 20+ min c/d (8:53)
R: 30 minutes - 3.5 (8:36) / arms
F: 60 minutes with 5 miles at goal marathon pace (7:47)
Sa: 34 minutes - 4 miles (8:40)
Su: 1:40 minutes - 11.5 (8:44)
Total: 38.3
It was really nice to have a cut-back week. It was a cold, slippery week as well so all of my runs, except Saturday, were on the treadmill. Heart rate was in a good place and mentally I could manage the treadmill pretty well. The big down-side of the week was just after I finished my longish run on Sunday, I started getting the dreaded migraine aura. Sure enough, within an hour and a half, I was completely incapacitated. Much worse than last time a few weeks ago. I was in bed by 7:30 pm, but couldn't fall asleep until after 11 since I was in so much pain. Boo. I have rarely gotten headaches, so it is frustrating that they seem to be cropping up more lately. Hopefully I have gotten it out of my system for a good long while.
