Last year, my son and I entered our first ever bike race. Unfortunately, it ended up being a scary, epic disaster because he had a big crash. I tried to talk him into doing it again. Um, no chance, Mom. I just about died.
But we all have crashes, we can do this. No way Jose.
This year's bike race is a couple weeks away.
Me: James, want to do the Boys & Girls Club bike race this year?
James: Yes!
Me: What?
James: Yes!
Me: Really dude?
James: Yeah, Mom. I have a solution to my problem. This year, I will walk my bike down that hill.
Me: ((((gush)))) Yay!!
Way to get back on that horse and face your fears boy! Dominate! This may sound minor, but that crash has caused major fear over the last year. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am that he is willing (and eager) to do it again this year.
