Happy Valentine's Day

Admittedly I am somewhat glib when I say that because I have always hated the Valentine's Day holiday. Especially as a kid. It was funny b/c I picked up Valentines for my kids' classes. Uh oh. They were "embarrassing, Mom." Of course they are. Who wants to say "be mine" or "hugs" to every single person in their class? Seriously. But I am lucky to have a great guy, so I guess I'll give the holiday a minor nod.

With that out of the way, here is how my week shook out:

M: rest / core

T: 7.1 (9:18). Did the first 3.1 outside, but it was very snowy and slippery, so I came in and finished up on the treadmill / arms, legs and core

W: 10 with 2.5 miles x 2 on treadmill; .5 rest (7:34, 7:30) / legs and core

R: 8 progressive on treadmill (8:54)

F: rest

Sa: 5.6 with 5K (22:34)

Su: 20 hilly (9:19); very cold out there, but finished up with last mile fastest/ legs and core

Total: 50

I also finally got around to booking our plane tickets to Boston. We are all going (the boys are thrilled) from Saturday - Wednesday. Should be a great time. I was pleasantly surprised at the deal I got on tickets too. Last time it was a lot more expensive. Next I have to figure out what we are going to do for hotel arrangements. John and I are hoping to stay relatively close to Hopkington the night before the race rather than dropping an insane amount of cash and having to deal with an hour long bus ride. Any suggestions?

BTW - LOVING the Olympics. My kids are too. My 6 year old spent an hour on www.vancouver2010.com watching videos of all the sports. Very cool.
