Week 7 Recap

Week 7 is in the books. I am putting my motivational meltdown behind me and focusing on working hard, getting stronger, and kicking some arse at Boston. Thanks to all that put up with my whining last week and offered encouragement. I really needed it.

So here is how the week shook out:

M: rest / arms / core

T: 8 [9:08] on treadmill - the boredom was unbelievable / core

W: 7.6 [9:34] - outside / core

R: 10 with 8x90 sec hill repeats [7:12, 7:14, 7:36, 7:14, 7:31, 7:32, 7:06, 7:11) / core and arms

F: 5.9 recovery [10:04]. This was the first real recovery run I have done since I started training. I was really happy with this.

Sa: 7.4 easy [9:13] with 5 striders / butt/thighs

Su: 16.3 hilly [9:08]. Tried to finish faster also. Mile 16 was 8:34 pace; last .3 was 7:56 pace. It was absolutely beautiful outside. It was very foggy and cold early this morning so all the trees were covered in snow and ice. It was stunning. And because it did not actually snow, the roads were 100% clear. It was perfect.

Total: 55.1

I am feeling better about my training and doing Boston. Now I need to just work hard and build strength. I am at that point in training where I am eating all the time, yet slowly losing weight. I certainly like that! I am really trying to focus on selecting the right foods too.

Oh yeah, and absent a huge storm, I am done with the treadmill. I can't take it anymore.

Excellent! I know you can pr in Boston. Stick with the plan and be patient. The fitness will come around. And I hear you on the treadmill! I spent lots of money on it, but I think I hate that thing :)

Why does fitting in 55 miles in a week seem so much easier when I read it on your blog?
