Apparently it was a good call for me to postpone my long run this weekend - even if it does mean Greg beat me in mileage for January! :)
Here is the week in recap:
M: rest
T: 12 progressive (8:50)
W: 6 recovery (9:48)
R: 11 w/6 @ 15K pace. Average pace o/a: 8:15; tempo progressively increased from 7:41 to 7:19.
F: 5 easy (9:22)
Sa: 6.03 (9:23) - not as easy as it should have been , but at least I was outside.
Su: 20.05 (8:47) - started out around 9s, hit the 10 mile mark at 8:55 pace and progressively sped up. Mile 19 was 8:21, mile 20 was 8:11 and I strode in at a 7:33 pace. Big improvement from how I felt yesterday.
Total: 60.1
Yay! Now I need to adequately hydrate before all the beer and crap food I will undoubtedly consume tonight during the Superbowl, which incidentally I could care less about this year. But we are hanging with good friends so it should be fun!

nice, nice Sunday run!
Another solid week!
I may have missed it, but what time are you training for? 3:25?
THANKS! 3:25 is the tentative goal. So far, it is looking possible. We shall see how the next 10 weeks unfold. My run felt good today and when I picked it up, all felt natural - not a proscribed run. BUT now I am a bit sore and am hoping I did not overdo it. It is not good to be doing 80% of my runs on the treadmill.
I am going to hunt down and kill the d@mn ground hog tomorrow if he sees his shadow. ;)
Happy Hunting!
D@mn ground hog.
Great job. No better confidence booster for a marathon than putting in a solid 20 miler.
If that little rodent only brought on another 6 weeks of winter, it wouldn't be so bad. Twelve is probably closer to reality in these parts ;)
