I ended up running the first 10 miles with my friend Michelle. We pushed the pace and hit the hills a bit more than I was planning for the day, but it was nice to have good company. The second 10 I scaled it back a little as the winds were getting crazy and my heart rate was a lot higher than I liked to see. It was 70 degrees, ridiculously humid and 20 mph winds with 40 mph gusts at the end. Nonetheless, I found another gear and made my last mile my fastest mile.

M: rest/upper body
T: 8.85 (8:06) with 3 x 2 miles @ 7:35 pace (7:32, 7:35, 7:32); .5 recoveries
W: 7.4 miles (8:49) / upper body
R: 9.6 miles (7:55) with 8 at goal marathon pace (7:45) am / 2.5 progressive with James (8:47) pm.
F: 2 miles (9:45) with Jakey / 4.7 (8:46) on my own / upper body weights
Sa: 4.1 miles warm up (8:25); 22:56 5K with James
Su: 20 miles (8:48)
Total: 62.3 miles
Bring on the taper!
