It was a good week, but I must admit that these 3 quality workouts a week make for one tired runner by the end of the week. My fitness is coming together nicely, but man, my legs are feeling it.
I MUST start doing more stretching. MUST.
Here is how the week shook out:
M: rest/arms & abs
T: 6.4 easy (8:59)
W: 10 with tempo intervals + 4 striders. 12 x .25 @ 7:17 pace; .25 recoveries. This was much easier and even-paced than the first time I did it. Good workout.
R: 7 miles (8:51) / arms & abs
F: 9.3 with 7 miles at goal marathon pace (7:47)
Sa: 5.2 (8:54)
Su: 18 (8:52) / abs
Total: 56 and change
Next week will be around the same volume again, but more of it during the week and a break for my long run. I may throw in a 5K on Saturday too. It is hard not to consider it with this amazing weather we've had!
