17 Miles

I originally had hoped to log 20 miles today since it is a day off, but I ended up running 17.

I was a bit tired after a fun night with girl friends (and wine), but overall, the run was great. I ran the first 8 with John, then the next 9 solo. It was 60 degrees and breezy - perfect. I also had a bit of spring in my step, which was welcome - particularly the day after a 10K. Fortunately, I did not have any soreness from the 10K.

Splits:
9:23
9:40
9:21
9:10
9:14
9:09
9:17
8:48
8:45
8:55
8:43
8:35
8:36
8:47
8:43
8:55
8:25

The last mile included a bonus arm workout too. Someone left fresh garden goodies at the end of their driveway for free, so I grabbed a squash and a zucchini. Well the zucchini was HUGE. Ha, I must have been quite the sight running down the street with a squash and a zucchini. :D

Anyway, 17 quality miles in the books. Not too shabby for my rest day. :) The plan is to try to hit 80 miles this week. Wish me luck.

Haha, they probably thought you stole the zucchini from someone's garden!

I'm glad you are getting in some great training and able to enjoy the nice weather!

Loving the image of you running with a zucchini!

Haha - I'm sure it is especially funny now that Jen said I probably looked like I stole it! It seemed like such a great idea at the time, but man, that thing was a bear (unlike the nice little summer squash which was much more manageable.) Half of it made some mad delish zucchini bread though (which our whole neighborhood enjoyed) so it was well worth it. :)

That's some pretty speedy running! What was your HR?

Good question, Greg. My AHR was 154!
