So I told you that on Tuesday morning I saw the suspicious truck again. I didn't make it long on the run b/c the footing was crap and I finished up on the treadmill. I ended up stuck inside on the TM the last couple days and frankly kind of forgot about it. But today, I received an e-mail today from a friend in town regarding a sighting of another suspicious truck (Suburban) driving around slowly around my neighborhood around 4pm. Yikes. Truck description was different, but same behavior. Called the cops and reported it. Unfortunately, I miswrote the license plate number on Tuesday, so no leads. I was afraid that may happen as I was super nervous and it was several minutes before I got back to the house to write it down.
I had run into my friend, RL Sunday and told him about what was going on, so I forwarded the info to him. Turns out he saw the truck yesterday - as it was trolling his neighborhood. Crazy. But I am glad the word is getting out! And, my friend was nice enough to offer to run with my early tomorrow so I wasn't solo. Am resting, so declined the offer. But awesome to know what great friends I have.
Update: I had written the plate number on a notebook at home after I saw the truck on Tuesday. Before I called the police yesterday, I called my cousin/babysitter who was at my house and asked her to read it to me. The reason I had the wrong number is I thought she said "V" instead of "Z." SO I called the police back with an update this morning. This time it was the right number! Unfortunately, the cop I was talking with said he recognized the name as a member of the fire department and, to me, it seemed like he thought this somehow lessened the gravity of the situation. That sucks. Members of the volunteer fire department can be sketchy too, people!! I asked him to step up patrol in that area and he said they would if they weren't on another call.
In the meantime, we are going to continue watching. My husband got up at 5 and drove around for 45 minutes but didn't see anyone (isn't he sweet?). We'll see. Hopefully we'll have an explanation/resolution soon.
As for running, I planned to run this morning to boost my weekly mileage, but roots suggested I take the day off. So it is a rest day for me today!

I'm beginning to think the whole "crazy truck" thing is a trick to attract readers :-) It's a mystery! I'm on the edge of my seat. I believe (and hope) the answer is boring. My version of Occam's razor -- that which is most boring is probably true.
Ha. I wish I was making it up. My husband is determined to catch this guy and figure it out!! I also hope your prediction (boring version) is true! Thanks.
LOL at Greg :-) I'm glad you've got others aware now too!
Johnny's such a nice guy. AND A GREAT DETECTIVE! Yea, I agree w/the fireman thing. I mean, look at Griessmeyer. He's sketchy as they come.
Yeah, Johnny rocks!!! I have great friends too (as you know, D)- poor RL accidentally stabbed himself in the chest with his stashed pencil ready for jotting down license plate numbers!
And yeah, Griessmeyer! Case in point! :D
