A good end of the week

So typically I like to have a fun image for my post. I was thinking strength, women, etc. What I found was far from what I am and inspire to be, so this time, no image.

This week was plagued with hip pain. I ran a bit over 8 on Tuesday (very slow) and limped the rest of the day. Rested W, ran 9 on Thursday - same deal - slow and gimpish. :(

Ran 5 easy on Friday night, then 12 easy on Saturday. Sunday I was scheduled for 17 w/ 14 at MP. I got out there and after 2.65 hit MP - nope - radiating pain in the hip. OK - refocus. I figured I would run as hard as comfortably possible. Logged 14 at 8:44 pace - last mile at MP. Decided to add 3 to make it a "workout" and log 20. All in all, I am glad I did. I did not hit my critical workouts, but added a 20 miler and exceeded my miles. It was tough as the winds were 15-20 mph in many sections, but it was good. I am finally on the upswing with my cold and hip "issue"- good things.

Total: 54.4 (of 51 planned)

Run on and enjoy this fall weather if you are outside of hurricanes!

Sounds like a good finish to a tough week. What is the hip pain from? Is it just one hip or both?Hope it really is on the mend.

Thanks! My hip is mostly better - I'd say around 85-90%. No pain, but I can feel it from time to time. It is just on the R side. My R hammy and calf are a little tight too. I am almost 100% positive it is because I have completely slacked on my core workouts during the last 6 weeks. EVERY time I do that, I end up with something like this. So, time to get back in. I ran a 5K this morning - not all out, but like a tempo run and the hip did not bug me at all.
