I have been planning to race on Thanksgiving. However, I think I am going to bail on it. It is supposed to be very cold and windy tomorrow and I am just not in very good shape right now. Sounds like a recipe for a very mediocre race. BUT, I always love the race environment and I'll get to catch up with a lot of people I haven't seen a while. I guess I will probably decide in the morning.
Have a great Thanksgiving, all.

After I was exhausted and achey running slower than 9:00 pace for 6 miles I decided that I would so rather sleep in and run in the woods by my house tomorrow than get up early, trek downtown (where I always run midweek in the winter, anyway) and run very uncomfortably in dreary icky weather and be out $30 for the pleasure. I hope you wake up feeling ready to go. I'll be rooting for you as I sip coffee in my warm pj's :)
That's not a very nice thing to do to your son.
I've decided to bail on a turkey day race as well. I'm just a couple hours south of you, so the same weather stuff is an issue. I don't see the point of struggling through a nasty weather race to log what would probably be a depressing performance.
Effort based tempo is my order of the day for a pre-gluttony-fest workout. Run well, and eat well-er!
OMG! :-) I bailed on my t'day race too! Last night I worked late and hard, and this morning I just didn't feel up to the drive and the people and the hoopla. So, like hubitron, I opted for 10.25 with 4mi @ tempo but I doubt I ran as fast as he did.
